Pet Dog Mauls Four in Sydney

On Friday, March 25th 2011, there was a news report of a family dog that mauled three family members and a neighbour. Within minutes this was all over the news and the web. The news footage showed a large dog, believed to be a Golden Retriever that was blood stained, contained in its back yard.

Later footage showed the dog being led out of the back yard on a simple slip leash and helped into the Council vehicle, the dog appeared slightly nervous if anything.

There is a lot of speculation as to the lead up to this event and it will be hard to find out exactly what happened.

After viewing the footage Steve Courtney has offered to complete a behavioural assessment on the dog at no charge to see what might be the cause of this event. He has also offered to adopt the dog and rehabilitate it if the problem is behavioural and he feels it can be cured.

We have emailed council and are awaiting their reply, I hope we get a chance to find out what has caused this event.
