Busta The Golden Retriever

Firstly we would like inform all those concerned for Busta that he is alive and well, and will remain that way!

K9 Pro - The K9 Professionals have been contacted by the family and asked to assess Buster and provide rehabilitation support as needed to Busta and of course his family, who miss him very much and do want him back living with them, where he belongs.

The outcry and positive support for Busta has been overwhelming and it demonstrates how strong the dog community is in Australia, for which the family and of course Busta are all very grateful.

The process will now progress through an in depth temperament assessment completed by Steve Courtney and when the results are complete, a behaviour modification program will be designed and implemented to ensure that Busta remains calm and does not become confused again. This part of the program will be undertaken at an undisclosed location.

The exact details of the event will be discussed upon completion of the temperament assessment however it is already unfolding that all was not as we were led to believe and it appears Busta may not have behaved as described.

It has to be noted that Canterbury Council and Animal Shelter have been both professional and amazing during the course of this event, and have worked tirelessly to try and help in every way possible.

As details come to light we will keep everyone interested in Busta and his progress informed, but for now please give the family and Council some space to recover from this incident.

Busta’s family really need some time to get over this traumatic event and for this they require some time and privacy, so please, let’s give them a couple of weeks and we will update you on Busta's progress through our Facebook page as soon as we can.
